Hello All,

Last night I played a Gurps scrimmage and we used a new feature in Skype 3.0 called SketchPad.

It was a snap to install, under the menu Tools -> Do More -> White Board Sketchpad and then follow the instructions.

It has very basic capabilities, you have a shared white board where you can interactively draw and erase lines on top of a background image.  You can also add comic book style text bubbles but we did not use them.  See screen shot below.  It was cool!

Gurps scrimmage?  Is this an offshoot of you D100 project?

Ahh no.  GURPS: Generic Universal Role Playing System is the system my brothers friends play.  Its the same concept as d20 or d100 but uses 3d6 for nearly everything instead of 2d10 like d100 or 1d20 like d20.  Its been around for a long while.  Its not a bad system but suffers from the same excessive complexity in certain areas like many systems do.  It has a loyal following and there are even books in the bookstore on it.

It did introduce to me the concept of "GAP".  The "GAP" is between what you rolled and what you needed to succeed.  The size of GAP above or below your check determines how well or how badly you performed.  Its an excellent device, eliminating another die roll and is simple to understand.  In the case of d100 we only implemented it in magic.  We enjoy rolling melee damage seperately

I checked it out.  It looks great, maybe not as big as we would like, but I think it will be great.  Let me know when you want to do some simple tryouts.
