I don't like the multi player alliance world, so I have restarted (in the same server) with 2 villages.  They are kinda far apart, but one is a steady source of income for the other.  Sure, it's cheating, but who would look at a small timer like me?  I'll never amount to anything, but I feel like I'm getting one over on "The Man".  Hah!

I keep sending resources from Mike to me.  The fun is gone, even with the incoming stuff.  Even the cheating part isn't fun anymore.  I blew all my troops trying to pi$$ someone off and they didn't even try to attack me back...How depressing.  I've noticed the "collection agency" coming into Mike's villages with 300+ Tuetonic knights and I'm sure they are just the collectors.  After I see what happens to troops from deleted accounts then I will delete---for good, I think.  If we could play a small scale world with just people we know and no gold I would play again--and enjoy it a great deal more.

y Mike and I had a similar discussion.  It takes too long, too much time and too many people.  I did greatly enjoy attacks and even defending, but I was never able to strike a balance between growing and having war machine.  I realized too late the secret is farms/raiding.  You wheat lock villa's in your area and raid them until they quit.  In our alliance the top players were bringing 100,000 to 1,000,000 resources a week.  How could any of us compete with that.

Anyhow, welcome back to Real Life.  I don't miss the game either.

I've deleted my accounts today (well, 72 hours from now) but not before launching an attack on the "Dark Father"!  I'm sure I'll damage him severely!

Ben -- Might it be possible to ask the creators of the game if you could run one game on your server for a group of friends?  There might be a fee though.  Just a thought....for a couple years from now.
