PUCS | Rules / Healing
Bodily damage in this system is about minor wounds: cuts, bruises and burns sustained in game play. When a player looses all the points in a zone, it is considered a serious (and often deadly) wound.
Basic Medical Attention
Allow the character to heal by ordinary means.
- Each day all zones of the player recover some damage.
- An affected zone can convert 1 point of wound to bruise per day.
- Once all the wounds in a zone are healed, the bruise damage begins to heal at one point per zone per day.
Requirements
- Presumes the player can rest. This is not to say the player lies in bed for a day, but presumes the player can avoid all strenuous activity for a day.
- Presumes the player can clean and bandage the wounds or has that done for them.
Example
A player has in
- Zone 0, four points of bruise and one point of wound.
- Zone 4, two points of bruise and three point of wound.
- Player rests to heal up:
- Resting Day 1 ends
- Zone 0: Five points bruise no wound
- Zone 4: Three points bruise and two points of wound
- Resting Day 2 ends
- Zone 0: Four points bruise no wound
- Zone 4: Four points bruise and one point of wound
- Resting Day 3 ends
- Zone 0: Three points bruise no wound
- Zone 4: Five points bruise and no wound
- Resting Day 4 ends
- Zone 0: Two points bruise no wound
- Zone 4: Four points bruise and no wound
- Resting Day 5 ends
- Zone 0: One points bruise no wound
- Zone 4: Three points bruise and no wound
- Resting Day 6 ends
- Zone 0: No damage
- Zone 4: Two points bruise and no wound
- Resting Day 7 ends
- Zone 4: One point bruise and no wound
- Resting Day 8 ends player is healed up.
