A Critical Hit occurs when the attacker rolls 00. The critical hit doubles the maximum damage of the weapon. The attack can be blocked by the defender without penalty providing the defender has the skill and the action available. The attack can be bumped without penalty by the defender provided the defender has the skill.
For Example: An attacker with a long sword, and +1 damage from strength, rolls a critical hit. The attacker does double maximum damage to the head, which is 8 points for the long sword plus 1 point for strength bonus all doubled (8+1)*2 = 18 points. The defender rolls to block, misses but bumps the blow to a less lethal part of the body.
